Effie Mae Carter Adams, 91 of LaCenter, died at 5:45 PM Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Life Care Center in LaCenter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of LaCenter.
She is survived by one son, Dr. James E. Adams and his wife Faye of Ft. Collins, Colorado; one daughter, Anne Stevens and her husband Clyde of LaCenter, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Kim Terrell and her husband Jackie of La Center; three grandsons, Kent Stevens and his wife Lisa of LaCenter, Dr. Jim Adams and his wife Heather of Erie, Colorado, and Dr. David Adams and his wife Amy of Fishers, Indiana; two great-grandsons, Zach Stevens and Dylan Nichols of LaCenter; five great-granddaughters, Kala Stevens of LaCenter, Caroline and Ava Adams of Fishers, Indiana, Brianna Adams of Erie, Colorado, and Nicolette Barton and her husband Andy of Elgin, Illinois; one great-great granddaughter, Mia Barton of Elgin; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Adams, two brothers and three sisters. Her parents were Lokey and Jewell Carter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 13 at Jones Funeral Home of LaCenter with Rev. Mark Bond officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday.
