Thelma Jerrell, 100 of Kevil, passed away at Life Care Center in LaCenter at 6:45 pm Sunday. She was a member of Kevil Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, and sang in the choir.
She is survived by her husband of 81 years, Elmer Jerrell of Kevil. Thelma and Elmer Jerrell were honored as the couple married longest in the history of Kentucky.
She leaves two sons, Voris Jerrell (Inez) of Paducah and Bob Alan Jerrell (Barbara)of Remlap, Alabama; 3 grandchildren, Barry Jerrell of Paducah, Amy Lindsey (Mark) of Helena, Alabama and Jay Jerrell (Jill) of Ft. Worth, Texas; one great grandchild, Sam Jerrell at home in Ft. Worth; and one sister, Sarah Church (Sam) of Ft. Pierce, Florida.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earnest Freeman and Arlee Freeman; and two sisters, Martha Stone and Inez Burke. Her parents were Wesley Freeman and Ethel Simon Freeman.
Funeral services were at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home of Kevil with Rev. Don Barnett officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
