Mary Frances "Doodle" Robey

Mary Frances Robey, 99 of Kevil, KY died at 10:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2007, at
Parkview Rehabilitation and Health Care Center of Paducah.
Mrs. Robey was born December 3, 1907, in Graves County, KY. Her parents were
Joseph F. & Laura Freeman Hobbs. She married Chesley B. Robey on September 29,
1926.
Mr & Mrs Robey were farmers in Ballard County for numerous years. Mrs. Robey was
known for her love of irises and the hundreds of varieties that she raised on her farm.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kevil and had been recognized as its oldest
surviving member.
Mrs. Robey was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, her father in 1961, mother
in 1969, her twin sister Hala in 2001, sisters Susie in 1968, Ollie in 1995, Mildred in
2000, brothers Joe in 1901, Roy in 1981, Leo in 1972, Leon in 1994, Harold in 1915,
Robert in 1926, and Ed in 1967.
She is survived by 7 step grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held at Brooks Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Paducah on
Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM with entombment following. Rev. Bill Ogden and
Rev. Stewart Strickland were the officiants.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wing 8 at Parkview Nursing Home for the loving
care they provided for the past 4½ years.
