Freida Woodruff, 74 of the Oscar Community, passed away at 5:09 PM Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mrs. Woodruff worked for many years as a cook for several nursing homes in the area.
She is survived by her husband, Bucky Woodruff of Oscar, Kentucky; one daughter, Connie Shelton and her husband Steve of Southside, Tennessee; four sons, Russell Forest of St. Louis, Missouri, Tommy Essary and his wife Tracey of Southside, Tennessee, Eddie Woodruff and his wife Nino of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Charles Woodruff of Oscar, Kentucky; three sisters, Rayola Groves of Benton, Missouri, Wanda Stark and Margaret McKinney of Charleston, Missouri; three brothers, Gerald McClain and Donnie McClain of Charleston, Missouri and Carl McClain of Sikeston, MO; 16 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren
She is preceded in death by two brothers, John Thomas “Buddy” Essary and Gary McClain; and one granddaughter, Tonya Essary. Her parents were Fred Essary and Earlene Delt Essary.
Funeral services were at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Jones Funeral Home of La Center, 230 Olive St, LaCenter, Kentucky. Rev. Jim Glover was the officiant. Burial was in Barlow City Cemetery, Barlow, Kentucky.
