Melanie Moss Clapp, 53 of Lone Oak, passed away at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Melanie was a graduate of Lone Oak High School, Class of “72 and of the Univ. of Kentucky, Class of ’76. She was
Secretary and a Charter Member of the LaCenter Beautification Association. A loving mother, she leaves her son,
Jonathan Clapp of Lone Oak; and four cousins, Nelwyn Bolin (Roy), Logan Harned (Shane), Darla Joe Harned and
Levi Lovett, all of Zolfo Springs, Florida. She will be remembered as open hearted, kind and simply amazing by the
rest of the Kids she called her own: David, Holden, Tara, Cass, Brittney, Kate, Buzz, Brandon, John, Cody, Adrian,
Sherri, Amber, Bethany, Christian, Jesska, Truman, and Brittni.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Moss and Sue Simpson Moss and her maternal grandparents,
Howard Simpson and Ursula Moore Simpson.
Funeral Services were held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Jones Funeral Home in LaCenter. Visitation will
be from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Rev. Rick Dye was the officiate. Burial was in the
Simpson Family Cemetery on Palmore Road just off Oscar Rd. (Hwy. 1105) in Ballard County, KY
