Harold Dennis Jones, 87 of LaCenter, passed away at 9:15 PM Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Life Care Center in
LaCenter.
Mr. Jones was a graduate of Ballard County High School, Class of 1938. He served in the US Navy from 1940 -
1946. He was a farmer in Ballard County and worked as a carpenter and as an attendant at Brockman’s Service
Station in LaCenter. He retired from the Ballard County Co. Op. in 1985 and worked there intermittently for the next
15 years. He was a member of LaCenter Christian Church, and served as Elder for many years. He was recognized
as Elder Emeritus on the last Sunday that he was able to attend services.
His daughter, Cheryl Jones of LaCenter and two sisters, Helen Dennis of Henderson and Mildred Van Hamm of
Arizona, survive Mr. Jones.
His wife, Geneva Pool Jones, preceded him in death. His parents were Pudge Jones and Lillie Stewart Jones.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 13 at the LaCenter Christian Church, with Rev. Dean Ross and Rev. Bill
Miller officiating. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 6:00 to 8:00PM Monday,
May 12.
